I had been hearing rumors. A maverick restaurant had moved into my area delivering…Indian food. Delicious, curry-filled Indian food. Walking down the street, waiting for the subway, I’d hear the word whispered on someone’s breath: “Tiffin.” Could it be true? Could this Tiffin really bring curry to my doorstep on a cold winter’s night? Oh, yes, yes, thank the samosa, yes. Two days ago I cradled the phone to my ear, and I said the words I love so dearly: saag paneer, nan, navrattan korma. And forty-five minutes later, the food showed up at my door with a delivery driver dressed in a suit. My roommate, boyfriend, and I dined; we feasted. We toasted to good friends and the ability to watch X-Files DVDs while eating freshly cooked basmati rice. My dear friends, a miracle has occurred: Tiffin is here.
