Fourth Street Bicycle Boulevard (4SBB)
Hidden among the six-lane boulevards of Los Angeles is a lovely, lazy street that stretches across the city from Koreatown to Hollywood. A small coalition of bicycle enthusiasts has dubbed it the Fourth Street Bicycle Boulevard, or 4SBB, because of awesome bike-ability and ease of transport across town. It spans diverse neighborhoods of stucco and concrete, brick facades and huge lawns. Weekends always bring folks out, jogging with strollers, skating with ipods, and riding with friends. Pack a snack, grab some friends and enjoy the ride. Start in Hollywood and end up by knocking some pins at the Shatto Lanes, or start in K-Town and complete your evening shopping at the Grove. Either way, it’s a great way to interact with your city without having to fight traffic.
